“Two Amur tigers, which are planned to be brought from the Netherlands, will settle in the Ile-Balkhash Reserve as part of a program to restore the population of rare predators in Kazakhstan. The relocation of tigers is being carried out in cooperation with international conservation organizations,” the source told the publication.
It is reported that both parties signed a memorandum on tigers’ return. The program to revive the Amur tiger population in Kazakhstan was launched in 2010, and the first tigers are planned to be released into the wild by 2025.
