Tokayev met with President of the European Council in Kyrgyzstan

Astana. June 2. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met in Kyrgyzstan with President of the European Council Charles Michel, the press service of Akorda reports.

“On the sidelines of the Central Asia-European Union summit, the head of our state met with President of the European Council Charles Michel. Welcoming Charles Michel, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the priority nature of Kazakhstan's strategic partnership with the European Union,” - the statement said on Friday.

The Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between our country and the EU marked the beginning of a new stage of in-depth cooperation. Today, the EU is the leading trading partner and the largest investor in the economy of Kazakhstan.

In turn, Charles Michel, highly appreciating the growing dynamics of cooperation between the European Union and Kazakhstan, noted the need for joint work to further develop cooperation.

"There was also an exchange of views on issues of the global and regional agenda," Akorda added.
