“Dear compatriots! I sincerely congratulate you on the New Year! We are entering the year that crowns the first quarter of this century. It is significant that all residents of our country, from Altai to Atyrau, are simultaneously opening a new page of the calendar. Our people always greet this holiday with enthusiasm. Looking back, we sum up the outgoing year, set new goals and look to the future with great hopes. On this truly family holiday, first of all, I want to wish peace and prosperity to our country, well-being to all our fellow citizens,” Tokayev said in his New Year’s greetings on Wednesday night.
He noted that this year has been full of important events.
“The comprehensive reforms we have launched have borne their first fruits. We have taken decisive steps to implement the new economic course. The manufacturing industry has developed dynamically, large industrial enterprises have been launched, and the investment climate has improved. Thousands of kilometers of roads have been reconstructed, and the longest bridge in the country has been built. Our farmers have harvested a record crops. Thanks to the “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign, the appearance of cities and villages has begun to change. For the first time, the average life expectancy of citizens has reached 75 years,” said the head of state.
According to him, much has been done to ensure a bright future for the younger generation.
“Part of the National Fund’s funds has begun to go to children’s accounts. Over a hundred new schools have been opened, and many social facilities have been built. The members of parliament adopted laws concerning pressing issues of society. A referendum was held, in which we made a very important decision concerning the future of our country. The majority of our citizens supported the construction of a nuclear power plant. Kazakhstan's authority on the world stage has significantly strengthened, and Astana hosted significant summits of influential international organizations," the president added.
As Tokayev noted, thousands of athletes and foreign guests gathered for the World Nomad Games, which were organized at the highest level.
He recalled that last spring, a number of regions were engulfed in large-scale floods, which became a difficult test for the country.
"But despite the difficulties, our people demonstrated solidarity and unwavering unity. All victims were provided with the necessary assistance. The state left no one behind, fulfilling all its obligations. Today, hundreds of families are celebrating the New Year in new homes. Thanks to such unity, we are overcoming all challenges and are confident in the future. We will continue systemic reforms and implement all our plans. As president, I will make every effort to make the coming year even more fruitful," Tokayev added.
"We need to open new industries, improve the conditions for doing business, continue building roads, and solve problems in the public utilities sector. It is necessary to expand the use of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence. Strengthen support for our farmers. In all this work, the main goal is to improve the well-being of citizens," the head of state said.
The President noted that the state will pay increased attention to the development of education and healthcare, science and culture.
