Astana. August 2. KazTAG - T250 million stolen through a financial pyramid have been returned from abroad to Kazakhstan in the form of crypto assets, reports the press service of the Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM).
"AFM was the first in the CIS to return from abroad crypto assets of a financial pyramid worth T250 million, stolen from Kazakhstani people. In world practice, only a few countries have achieved similar results. Thus, the Agency, using modern IT tools, eliminated the high-tech financial pyramid Eolus, which attracted funds from Kazakhstani people in cryptocurrency, within 2.5 months,” the report said on Friday.
As noted, in 12 regions of the country (Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Uralsk, Kokshetau, Zhetysu, Turkestan) almost 2.5 thousand depositors were involved.
