“The National Security Committee (NSC), under the coordination of the Prosecutor General’s Office, has stopped a regional drug supply channel from the southern regions of Kazakhstan to Astana. A “drug courier” was detained while transporting drugs. During the inspection of the vehicle, 45 kg of hashish and 312 kg of marijuana were found and seized. In addition, as a result of the searches, an additional 1.6 tons of marijuana and 1 kg of hashish were seized,” said the NSC press service.
The drugs were intended for wholesale and retail distribution in the northern regions of Kazakhstan.
