“On October 14 through 16, the NSC Border Service detained seven citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who had citizenship of another state at checkpoints on the State Border,” reads the report.
They were handed over to the police for further investigation.
According to border guards, since the beginning of the year, border guards have identified 935 individuals with dual citizenship.
“By the legislation of Kazakhstan, having a second citizenship is punishable by a fine of up to 200 MCI or administrative deportation,” reads the statement.
