Russian missile caused plane crash near Aktau – Euronews

Astana. December 27. KazTAG – A Russian missile caused a plane crash near Aktau, reports one of the world's leading media outlets, the European TV channel Euronews.
"Sources in the Azerbaijani government exclusively confirmed to Euronews on Thursday that a Russian surface-to-air missile caused the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Aktau on Wednesday. According to sources, the missile was fired at flight 8432 during drone operations over Grozny, and fragments hit passengers and flight attendants when it exploded near the plane during the flight. Government sources told Euronews that the damaged plane was not allowed to land at any Russian airport despite requests from the pilots for an emergency landing, and was ordered to fly over the Caspian Sea to Aktau in Kazakhstan. According to reports, the plane's GPS navigation systems were jammed throughout the flight over the sea," the report said.
A few hours earlier, Kazakh senator Andrey Lukin called for no public discussion of the version that the plane that crashed near Aktau was shot down.
