Russia is going to attract Kazakhstani airlines to domestic flights

Astana. October 18. KazTAG - Russia has asked Kazakhstan to organize domestic flights due to a shortage of aircraft, reports The Moscow Times.
"The Ministry of Transport is negotiating to attract Kazakhstani airlines to flights within Russia," Minister Roman Starovoit said.
The Moscow Times writes that in Russia there is a threat of a shortage of aircraft among domestic carriers and therefore the authorities are seeking help from "friendly" countries.
According to Starovoit, this concerns so-called cabotage transportation, when a foreign airline operates flights between settlements in another country.
"In Russia, only domestic air carriers currently have this right," reads the article.
The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan requested more than T9 billion in 2024 for the development of domestic aviation.
