Police of Nur-Sultan about protest actions of drivers: don't confuse protest actions and group meetings

Astana. February 21. KazTAG - Do not confuse protest actions and group meetings, said Yelzhan Chupekov, head of administrative police department of Nur-Sultan commenting on the protest action of drivers of foreign cars imported from the states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
"Don't confuse protest actions and meetings of certain groups. These are two different things," he said answering the question if people would be detained for their protests.
Answering the question: "If a meeting is held peacefully tomorrow, what will happen?".
The head of administrative police said, "why not?"
"Now the initiative group of drivers generally works for both Government and people, because they are trying to resolve these problems," he said.
Police officers did not detain the participants of the protest action organized by drivers of cars delivered from Armenia and other EAEU states to Kazakhstan which was held in the central park of Nur-Sultan.
The protestors claimed "full legalization of cars imported from EAEU states" , some of them said they were "ready to pay 10% fee of the customs cost of their car" asking for instalments until March 1 2021.
