Number of participants in rallies in Kazakhstan reached 50,000 on January 5 - Prosecutor General's Office

Astana. January 17. KazTAG - The number of participants in the rallies in Kazakhstan reached 50,000 people on January 5, Serik Shalabayev, head of the Criminal Prosecution Service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan.
“On January 3, in support of the residents of the Mangistau region, peaceful rallies began in other 7 regions of the country. On January 4, the rallies continued. The number of regions increased to 11 while the number of participants increased sharply to 37,000. In the cities of Almaty and Shymkent, armed attacks and arsons began, including on official vehicles (...) On January 5, massacres and seizures of buildings continued in 11 regions of the country. The number of their participants has reached 50,000,” he said.
He noted that 20 thousand of them were in Almaty.
