"The constitutional law does not provide for such privileges for Nazarbayev's relatives," Eskarayev said on the sidelines of parliament.
He explained that, in accordance with the current constitutional law “On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, guarantees are provided for ex-presidents.
“The norms are provided for social security, for the protection of the ex-president, for the provision of transport services, and an apartment. (...) There are a number of laws, more than 20 laws, which regulate issues regarding the status, powers of the first president. These laws will be analyzed in the statutory order, this comprehensive work will be carried out as part of the relevant legislative process, and then an appropriate decision will be proposed,” added the Minister of Justice.
Speaking about the timing, he noted that this is "a very large amount of work."
“In accordance with the fact that this law is no longer valid, these norms will be excluded from other laws. As for the deadlines, you know, legislative processes cannot be adopted in an accelerated time, so now there will be a comprehensive work on the analysis, study of relevant legislative acts in order to identify such norms,” he added.
