"Ayazhan Suleyeva, wife of Amanzhol Turarov serving 9 years term in a prison, accidentally revealed the fact of her husband beating. She got an anonymous phone call, the caller said that her husband was beaten in a quarantine room, he had no medical aid. She failed to contact her husband and applied to public figures. Then her husband was taken to hospital and the family members managed to talk to him," the message reports.
"The man said: "they will turn me into a suicider, they will kill me if I say something," the woman said.
A. Turarov, the relatives said, several times changed his evidences. First he wrote he was beaten by the volunteers of the camp's administration and indicated their names, then he said he fell down. The management of the penitentiary institution did not confirm the fact of beating but clarified why the prisoner was taken to hospital after 5 days.
"We delivered him to hospital of Kapchagay, they made x-rays and gave referral letters. We had to deliver him on Friday. But we had an arrangement - "autumn-winter" change- we could not deliver him on Friday. We called the lawyer and the wife, I promised to deliver him on Monday. We did it and they made MRI," said Syrymbet Nurmukhambetov, head of LA-155/12.
The man was diagnosed concussion, numerous trauma and bruises.
Criminal case has been opened on the fact of tortures, said the criminal-executive committee.
