"EximBank, Bank of Astana, Qazaq Banki have terrible indexes as the shareholders had poor management, they made borrowings and cannot repay to their depositors, how are they going to work? They want to put responsibility on the Government. If they want to save these banks, the shareholders must invest and repay the money," he said at the session of the Government.
He said "it will be useless to apply to the financial regulator for the banks "which failed their work", he also recommended "to stop pressurizing the National Bank".
He added there will be no support to these banks.
After having listened to the annual report of the National Bank, the president emphasized the state support of the banking system and necessity of enhancement of control over the activity of financial institutions by the regulator.
"The Government provided unprecedented support to the banking system allocating 3 trln tenge. At the same time the volume of credits provided by the banks did not increase and made 12.7 trln tenge by the end of 2017. The share of non performing loans made 10%,” he said.
