National video monitoring system with AI launched in Kazakhstan

Astana. November 21. KazTAG - A video surveillance system has been launched in Astana and Almaty that allows recognizing offenders, finding missing people and recording violations using artificial intelligence, reports the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan.
"The national video monitoring system using artificial intelligence technologies allows recognizing wanted persons, signaling about abandoned objects in public places, and recording violations automatically. Also, "computer vision" allows identifying vehicles by make, model and color," reads the report.
The national video monitoring system was developed jointly by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Committee and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry. "Smart" cameras monitor public places - train stations, airports, shopping centers, intersections.
The system with the "computer vision" function recognizes wanted persons, records abandoned objects, identifies vehicles by make, model and color.
