More than 470 thousand tons of grain harvested in East Kazakhstan region

Ust-Kamenogorsk. September 19. KazTAG –84.6% of the grain area has already been harvested and 472.1 thousand tons of the crop have been collected in the East Kazakhstan region, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
“Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov visited the East Kazakhstan region on a working visit, where he got acquainted with the progress of harvesting work. The minister was informed that to date, 84.6% of the grain area has been harvested in the region, 472.1 thousand tons have been threshed. The average yield is 22 c/ha,” the department reported on Wednesday.
In addition, 1.3 million tons of hay (86% of the plan), 161 thousand tons of haylage, 134.3 thousand tons of silage, 46.1 thousand tons of straw and 43.7 thousand tons of concentrated feed were planted in the region.
"As of today, 48% of the area has been harvested in Kazakhstan. The average yield is 15 c/ha," said Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov during a trip to East Kazakhstan region. The Minister also noted that T580 billion was allocated for spring field work and the harvesting campaign, which is aimed at introducing modern agricultural technologies and fertilizers. This year, farmers have already purchased 1.2 million tons of fertilizers, which is almost twice as much as last year.
