More than 25% of country's population will live in Almaty agglomeration by 2050

Almaty. December 6. KazTAG - Almost 25% of the country's population will live in the Almaty agglomeration by 2050, indicates the new interregional scheme of territorial development of Almaty agglomeration.
"According to the prognosis of planning ( year 2050) 4530.8 thousand people or 24.5% of the country's population will live in Almaty agglomeration. 3351.9 thousand people will live in the city and 1178.0 thousand in the rural area. The rates of growth of the size of population will make 62.8% ( or 1747.5 thousand people) by 2050, including in the city- 68.1%, in rural area - 49.3%," reads the document.
The level of urbanization will make 74% by 2050, the share of rural dwellers will make 26% by 2050.
