“In total, more than 20 defendants are being prosecuted for these facts, and they face up to seven years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Work to eliminate illegal migration channels is underway,” said Kuandyk Alpys, representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Several such criminal groups have been detained by the units for combating organized crime.
The activities of three criminal groups involved in organizing the illegal migration of foreign citizens by falsifying and counterfeiting documents have been stopped in the Turkestan and Zhambyl regions.
“Criminal cases are being investigated in the West and North Kazakhstan regions against Kazakh citizens who intended to illegally transport foreigners to the territory of a neighboring state, including through rough terrain,” reads the report.
