Law enforcement agencies began to use military weapons only on January 6 - Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan

Astana. January 17. KazTAG - Law enforcement agencies began to use military weapons only on January 6, said  Serik Shalabayev, head of the criminal prosecution service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan.
“On January 6, by the resolution of the Security Council, an anti-terrorist operation was announced in the country. Its main goal was to eliminate threats to national security and protect lives and property of people. Only from that day on, law enforcement agencies and the armed forces began to use firearms to destroy terrorists,” Shalabayev said.
According to him, until that moment, law enforcement agencies used only non-lethal weapons.
