KPO took part in forum on development of oil & gas machine building in Kazakhstan


Astana. May 17. KazTAG  - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), Tengizchevroil, LLP (TCO) and North Caspian Operating Company N.V (NCOC) took part in the joint “Forum on the development of oil & gas machine building in Kazakhstan” in Nur-Sultan.
The event was held at the initiative of the International Center for Development of Oil and Gas Machine Building (IMBC).
The main objective of the forum was to familiarize domestic and international manufacturers, relevant Government agencies and other stakeholders with the activities, results and plans of IMB Center.
The event was attended by Mr. Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Bolat Akchulakov Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the PSA Authority, local executive bodies, Machine building Union of Kazakhstan, local machine building companies and representatives of international original equipment manufacturers working in Kazakhstan.
Addressing the participants of the Forum, Giancarlo Ruiu, KPO General Director, emphasized that KPO and the Karachaganak Partners committed to supporting the RoK government’s plans and initiatives aimed at the development of Local Content and industrial innovations in the country.
“KPO is committed to the sustainable development of local supply networks through partnership agreements signed with RoK vendors and other initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of local producers. From the beginning of the current year, as part of the regular tenders and in competition with foreign companies, 94 contracts were awarded to the local suppliers out of 107 contracts.
“KPO understands the importance of local content share increase in goods, works and services, as it allows to provide job opportunities, improve the skills of employees and has a general multiplier effect on all economic sectors. One of the tools to facilitate this matter was the creation of the International Machine Building Center by the three major oil and gas operators with the active participation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To date, KPO and IMBC have established the effective interaction, and the exchange of required data and communication”, added Giancarlo Ruiu.  
Signing of a Resolution of the Forum between KPO, the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, NCOC, TCO, Association of Kazakhstan Machine Industry and IMBC has become one of the highlights of the event. The purpose of the Resolution is to increase local production in procurement of goods.
