Kazakhstani volunteers have helped over 1.5 million people in the time of pandemic

Astana. April 23. KazTAG - Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, volunteers of Kazakhstan have provided assistance to more than 1.5 million people, said Vera Kim, Majilis deputy.
“Of course, the coronavirus pandemic has brought great changes in the life of every citizen of Kazakhstan. But it should be noted that at the same time it allowed us to see new aspects of volunteering. Volunteers of Kazakhstan made a special, significant contribution to the fight against COVID-19. During this period, assistance was provided to more than 1.5 million people who found themselves in a really difficult life situation, ”she said.
According to her, significant progress in development has taken place in the field of volunteering at the international level.
“For the first time this year, seven volunteers from Kazakhstan started to work in the UN structures. This initiative was implemented within the framework of the IIPD agreement and the UN Volunteers program. I want to say that our Kazakhstani volunteers, fully supported by the Government, have begun to work in four countries - Jordan, Thailand, Turkey and Kenya, ”she said.
