Kazakhstan to move away from Soviet-style police state

Almaty. January 20. KazTAG - U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback believes that Kazakhstan will move away fr om Soviet-style police state, report the US mass media sources.
Brownback cited Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as one place wh ere the economic and strategic case for religious freedom is making a difference.
“I think they’re going to continue pushing the neighborhood to be much more open and move away from the former Soviet-style police state,” he said.
Brownback is a US ambassador on international religious freedom.
