“Today, QazaqGaz, together with Gazprom, are working on the development of a pre-feasibility study to study a set of issues for the construction of the international gas pipeline “Russian Federation - the Republic of Kazakhstan - the People's Republic of China,” Akchulakov said, speaking at a government meeting on Wednesday.
According to him, this is the second option for importing Russian gas within the framework of the roadmap for cooperation in the gas industry between Kazakhstan and Russia.
In his words, the first option for gasification of the eastern regions of Kazakhstan is the construction of a gas pipeline along the route "Kostanay - Astana - Pavlodar - Semey - Ust-Kamenogorsk", which will require significant funds, an increase in gas tariffs for consumers and involvement in the development of new resources of gas fields , and from exploration to commissioning takes an average of 7-10 years.
