Kazakhstan climbs five steps up in international CPI rating

Astana. February 11. KazTAG – Kazakhstan has climbed five steps up in the international rating “Corruption Perceptions Index” of Transparency International for 2024, reports the press service of the anti-corruption agency.
“In the international rating entitled “Corruption Perceptions Index” of Transparency International for 2024, Kazakhstan has again improved its results. Kazakhstan received 40 points, climbing five positions up among 180 countries (88th place),” reads the report.
The average score worldwide was 43, and in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region (19 countries) - 35.
Kazakhstan has been indicated as a country with a significant increase in the rating since 2016 - an increase of 11 points (from 29).
"Among the countries of the Central Asian region, Kazakhstan occupies the highest position and is the only country that has improved its rating," reads the report.
It is indicated that below Kazakhstan in the index are such countries as India (38), Indonesia (37), Argentina (37), Serbia (35), Ukraine (35), Brazil (34), Thailand (34), Turkey (34), Belarus (33), Russia (22) and others.
