"The authorities of Iran have resolved to transfer the international transactions from dollar into euro. The decision was taken on April 18 at the session of the Cabinet," said the press-service of Iran's president.
"The session was chaired by Hassan Rouhani, president of Iran. All the ministries, state organizations and companies must use euro instead of dollar in their reports, information and financial data. The central bank of Iran will fix the rate of national currency in respect of euro," reads the message.
According to Reuters, the decision has been taken on the background of the efforts of the Government to support depreciating rial.
