"Provide in the republican budget for 2025 for the receipt of rent for the use of the Baikonur complex by the Russian Federation in the amount of T54,050,000 thousand tenge and military testing grounds in the amount of T9,418,330 thousand," reads the Article 2 of the law "On the republican budget for 2025-2027." The city of Baikonur and the cosmodrome together form the Baikonur complex, consisting of 8 launch complexes, 13 launch pads, eight silo launch pads for intercontinental ballistic missiles. The complex is leased by Russia until 2050.
Currently, in order to create a museum complex on sites 1 and 2, the Kazakh and Russian sides are discussing the issue of withdrawing from the lease and transferring to the Kazakh side the Gagarin Start with the placement of space technology samples available at the Baikonur Cosmodrome on its base.
