High-level diplomats visit Karachaganak

Aksai. November 8. KazTAG - A delegation of diplomats from the embassies of the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of the Netherlands visited the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field as part of short-term working visit to the West Kazakhstan Oblast (WKO).
The delegation was headed by Mr. William Moser, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Michael Gifford, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Kazakhstan and Mr. Andre Carstens, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the  Netherlands to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, Edwin Blom, KPO General Director, presented an overview of the KPO facilities, production performance, major projects local content achievements and social infrastructure projects. Edwin Blom also shared the data on recent Turnaround 2019 – the biggest shutdown at the Karachaganak Field ever.
“KPO consistently achieves good production while focusing on industrial safety, labour, environmental protection and local capacity development. As of today, KPO’s Partners have invested more than $25 billion into the development of Karachaganak field”, added Edwin Blom.
As part of the visit, the delegation familiarized with the key issues of the Karachaganak Field plateau extension projects’ implementation and also visited the Karachaganak field facilities: Karachaganak Processing Complex (KPC), Karachaganak Debottlenecking Project (KGDBN) and Rig-249. In addition, the guests met informally with the KPO employees.
At the end of the visit, the high-level diplomats thanked KPO for their hospitality and wished all company’s employees further continued success in the development of the Karachaganak project.
