According to preliminary data presented by the Central Election Commission on Friday, 134 electors voted for Rakhmetova, and 39 for her opponent Rauza Kasenova.
Six electors voted against both candidates, and one person abstained.
It should be noted that since December 2022, Rakhmetova has been the head of the branch of the Amanat party in the North Kazakhstan region.
Rakhmetova was elected to the Senate instead of Gulmira Karimova, who died on January 27.
