Astana. June 14. KazTAG - Former Minister of Emergency Situations Yuri Ilyin will be checked for negligence and dereliction of duty.
“The President has given an order to the Prosecutor General, within the framework of which an audit will be carried out. The very fact of the fire is an extraordinary circumstance, people died, therefore, within the framework of the criminal case, there will be an inspection: why measures were not taken in a timely manner, perhaps negligence, failure to fulfill the official duties,” Interior Minister Marat Akhmetzhanov said answering questions from journalists.
Also, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was asked about what version of the fire in the Abay region he himself was inclined to.
“There is an investigation, there is a version of arson. The case has been taken over by special prosecutors. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in this group, we'll see the investigation. There is a version of arson, negligence, lightning strike. Examinations and search activities will be carried out. Two months have been given for the investigation,” Akhmetzhanov said.
