“On October 22, the specialized interdistrict investigative court of the city of Astana authorized a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 2 months in respect of the suspect Beketayev M,” said the press service of the capital’s court.
Beketayev was detained on October 21 in a corruption case as part of the campaign announced by President Tokayev to return illegally withdrawn assets. Beketayev is considered close to the ex-chairman of the National Security Committee Karim Masimov.
