Electricity generation by renewable energy sources increased by 20% in Kazakhstan

Astana. January 31. KazTAG - Electricity generation by renewable energy sources has grown by 20.5% in Kazakhstan, reports Samruk-Energy JSC.
“The volume of electricity generation by facilities in Kazakhstan for the use of renewable energy sources (solar power plants, wind, biogas plants, small hydropower plants) of Kazakhstan in January-December 2022 amounted to 4,642.7 million kWh compared to January-December 2021 (4163.6 million kWh), the increase amounted to 854.2 million kWh or 20.5%,” reads the report.
Energy-producing organizations of Samruk-Energy JSC produced 35,884.4 million kWh in January-December 2022.
All power plants of Kazakhstan generated 112,865.9 million kWh of electricity  in January-December 2022,  1,582.0 million kWh or 1.4% less than the same period in 2021.
