Dozens of violations of 15% trade markup identified in Kazakhstan

Almaty. January 22. KazTAG – 49 violations were identified when the trade markup on potatoes was overpriced, reports the Ministry of Trade and Integration.
“Since the beginning of the year, 20 regional commissions have already been held to identify unproductive intermediaries, where 49 violations have been identified in terms of not exceeding the 15% trade markup on potatoes,” reads the report.
According to the information, following the meetings of the Ministry of Trade and Industry with large retail chains, in particular, Small and Magnum, today the average price of potatoes in Astana in Small has dropped to T280, in Magnum - T185/kg.
With total reserves of 85.4 thousand tons, 23.6 thousand tons of potatoes were sold from December 2024 to January 19. Over the past three days, about 3 thousand tons have been sold, including 300 tons in Almaty, 600 tons in Shymkent, and 300 tons in the Turkestan region. Reserves in stabilization funds are 62 thousand tons.
