"The implementation of a unique project for Kazakhstan has begun in the Pavlodar region - the construction of the first alkylate production plant with a production capacity of 97.6 thousand tons per year," reads the message posted on the bank's website.
The plant will be built by INTERTRANS C.A. LLP. The total cost of the project is T35 billion. An agreement on opening a credit line was concluded between JSC "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" and INTERTRANS C.A. LLP.
Alkylate is a high-octane component of gasoline, which significantly improves the properties of gasoline and reduces emissions of carbon dioxide and toxic substances into the atmosphere.
Today, oil refineries in Kazakhstan use octane-boosting components such as N-methylaniline and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). However, their use has a number of limitations. N-methylaniline is toxic, contributes to nitrogen oxide emissions, increases fuel corrosion and accelerates engine wear. MTBE increases the octane number, but its oxygen-containing properties contribute to the formation of toxic substances during combustion.
