Court in Yerevan released ex-president of Armenia Kocharyan

Almaty. August 14. KazTAG - The appellate court of Yerevan has released ex president of Armenia Robert Kocheryan under the written pledge not to leave the country, reports RBK.
According to Ruben Saakyan, lawyer, the ex president has constitutional immunity and cannot be subjected to criminal prosecution. "Saakyan added that Kocharyan has left for his house," reads the message.
R. Kocharyan worked as a president of Armenia since March 1998 until April 2008. He was arrested in late July. He was charged overthrowing the constitutional order within the frameworks of the case on events on March 1-2 2008.
In February and March 2008, a series of protests against violations in the presidential elections held on February 19 took place in Armenia. On March 1, at least 8 demonstrators and 1 serviceman were killed in a clash between protesters and security forces. The protests ended after R. Kocharyan introduced a state of emergency, it came into force at night on March 2.
