By the end of the year it is planned to switch to unified QR code system in Kazakhstan

Astana. January 22. KazTAG – By the end of the year it is planned to switch to a unified system of QR codes in Kazakhstan.
“Currently, the QR code payment service is available from a number of banks at the intrabank level. At the same time, the launch of the interbank payment service using QR code is planned at the end of 2024,” reports the press service of the National Bank.
Thus, citizens may have the opportunity to make QR payments from the application of one bank through the application/device of another bank.
There is a National QR Code Standard that defines a unified methodology for generating payment QR codes and the minimum composition of the details required to complete them in Kazakhstan.
The National Bank noted that the National Standard is a set of rules for generating a QR code, while payments using a QR code (transaction processing) are carried out both in intrabank systems and at the interbank level.
