"In Ushtobe, police officers detained a local blogger. He is suspected of extorting T10 million from an entrepreneur engaged in the construction of houses for city residents," reads the report.
Presumably, the blogger demanded the specified amount for the removal of a previously published video about allegedly poor-quality construction and promised not to distribute such materials anymore.
The arrest was carried out by officers of the Organized Crime Control Department of the Zhetysu Region under the coordination of the regional prosecutor's office. According to the police, the blogger was caught red-handed while receiving part of the money in the amount of T7 million.
