Bakhty-Pokitu checkpoint opened for cargo carriers on the border of Kazakhstan and China

Astana.  October 28. KazTAG -  Bakhty-Pokitu checkpoint has been opened for freight carriers on the border of Kazakhstan and China, reports the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan.
"The work of the Bakhty-Pokitu checkpoint on the Kazakhstani-Chinese border will be resumed for freight carriers from October 28, 2020," reads the statement.
In order to prevent an increase in the COVID-19 epidemic, the Chinese side temporarily prohibited the travel of tourists and others through this checkpoint.
"In turn, the Chinese side additionally announced that it is considering the possibility of transporting goods through the checkpoints Kalzhat-Dulaty and Maykapchagai-Zimunay, as well as the entry of Kazakhstani drivers into the logistics centers of Chinese checkpoints," the message says.
