“The petition of the investigator has been satisfied on the following grounds: at freedom he can prevent an objective investigation, he can put pressure or hide from the criminal prosecution authorities. He is charged with a serious crime. Bakauov has been detained for two months (until March 16, 2020 - KazTAG), ”said Baltabay Dumbekbayev, judge of the investigative court of Pavlodar.
Prosecutor Rustam Sadvakasov revealed in court the details of the Bakauov case. According to him, on September 26, 2019, the representatives of the Department of State Revenues in the Pavlodar region conducted a tax audit in AksuTransLogistic LLP, whose sole founder is Bakauov’s relative - Bakauov R.D. The audit checked the accuracy of calculation and timely payment of taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget. In December 2019, Bulat Bakauov was notified that the tax audit revealed violations of tax legislation that entailed additional charges of legal entities to more than 200 million tenge. According to the prosecutor, Bakauov demanded the officials in Pavlodar region to conceal the true results of checks and reduce the tax to 5 mln tenge.
