Arrests of civil activists may be connected with disputes within the Government - Bapi

Almaty. September 19. KazTAG - Arrests of civil activists in Kazakhstan may be connected with disputes within the Government, said Yermurat Bapi, political and public figure.
"I think it is a result of confrontation of two powers in the state. The trigger, must have been the meeting of Ablyazov or polemics of Ablyazov and Yertysbayev (ex ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus-KazTAG) at the "Politone" Or it might be connected with resignation of Krymbek Kusherbayev, head of Presidential Office, who was one of initiators of creation of the National Council of Public Trust under the President of Kazakhstan, where discussion of society democratization started," he said to KazTAG.
He believes there might be confrontation of supporters and opponents of reform in the structure of the Government.
"There might be a war on the top, where one side claims to rehabilitate the old regime, while another one headed by Tokayev is going to change something in the state, to smooth the protest mood in the society. I am not going to defend Tokayev's team, but in this case his team gave relief to society. I hope this fight will end for the country without consequences, ”Bapi added.
Bapi, in the social networks, said that 40 civil activists were made liable for participation in unsanctioned protest actions from September 16 until September 18 in Kazakhstan, 28 of them were fined 20-50 MCI or arrested for 2-15 days.
1 MCI = 2525 tenge.
