"On September 5, the Republican Veterinary Laboratory received the results of bacteriological studies confirming the presence of anthrax in samples taken from two heads of cattle," said the Ministry of Agriculture.
Four participants in the slaughter of cattle in the Uyghur district are suspected of having anthrax. The Health Department told KazTAG that all patients are being treated in Almaty. The patients' conditions are moderate.
The import and export of live animals and livestock products has been prohibited in the village.
