Akmola region attracted less than half of planned investment

Astana. June 24. KazTAG – The investments volume dropped in Akmola region - by 53%, Zhambyl region - by 18% and North Kazakhstan region - by 35% in 2021, said Almas Aidarov ,Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
“The investments dropped most in the Akmola region by 53% to $59 million, Zhambyl region - by 18% to $20 million and North Kazakhstan region - by 35% to $35 million,” he said.
The investments dropped in Shymkent - up to 94% or $141 million, Atyrau region - up to 93% or $5.6 billion and West Kazakhstan region - up to 80% or $1 billion.
Investments increased in other regions. The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) increased the most - 2.6 times to $910 million in the Turkestan region.
Gross FDI inflows in Kazakhstan as a whole increased by $123 million.
