Agreement on APS construction by Russia in Uzbekistan may be signed in 2018

Almaty. April 20. KazTAG - The agreement on construction of an atomic power station by Russia in Uzbekistan may be signed in 2018, reports TASS news agency.
"I think we will sign the documents with Russia for the station construction this year," said Shavkat Mirziyeyev, president of Uzbekistan.
A cooperation agreement on use of atomic energy in peaceful aims was concluded at the end of December 2017 between the Governments of Russia and Uzbekistan. It will create a legal base for bilateral interaction between the states in peaceful use of atomic energy. The parties plan to create the national infrastructure and prepare staff for the atomic energy in Uzbekistan, build an atomic power station and research reactors in the state.
