126 thousand birds died from pasteurellosis in West Kazakhstan region

Uralsk. January 23. KazTAG – At the end of December 2024, pasteurellosis infection occurred at the poultry farm of Agrofirma AKAS LLP in the Baiterek district, which led to the death of 126 thousand birds, reports Moi Gorod.
“Tests of pathological material from December 31, 2024 showed a positive result for pasteurellosis. The death of birds at Agrofirma AKAS LLP amounted to 126 thousand heads. By decision of the akim of the Baikonys rural district of the Baiterek district, restrictive measures were imposed on the territory of the poultry farm on December 31,” said the press service of the West Kazakhstan region veterinary department.
The dead chickens and eggs were disposed of by burning. The premises were disinfected to prevent further spread of the disease.
Most often, young geese, ducks and chickens are affected by pasteurellosis in birds.
