Japanese Prime Minister canceled his visit to Kazakhstan

Astana. August 9. KazTAG – Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has canceled his visit to Kazakhstan.
“According to the Japanese Embassy, due to the earthquake in their country, a decision was made to cancel the visit of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to Kazakhstan,” said Aibek Smadiyarov, official representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
An earthquake measuring 7.1 hit Japan. The region remains at risk of another earthquake. A tsunami threat has also been reported.
Kishida’s official visit to Kazakhstan was expected on August 9-10. The head of the Japanese Cabinet planned to take part in the first summit of the “Central Asia plus Japan” dialogue, and on August 10, to hold talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Kishida’s tour program also included trips to Uzbekistan and Mongolia.
