General contractor of Abu-Dhabi Plaza underpaid hundreds millions tenge into budget

Astana. December 10. KazTAG - Arabtec Consolidated Contractors Limited, general contractor of Abu-Dhabi Plaza, underpaid hundreds millions tenge into the budget, reports the prosecutor's office of Astana.
"The prosecutor's office of Astana has revealed violations of tax legislation in the form of underestimation of taxes in two economic subjects. It has been revealed that this year a branch of Arabtec Consolidated Contractors Limited evaded social and income taxes. The company filed a declaration to the tax department where the total salary fund made 1 bn tenge, while the labour department indicated the factual sum of 4 bn tenge in the reported period," reads the message.
According to the prosecutor's body, the company intentionally understated the tax payments by three times.
"World Monitoring (recruiting company hiring personnel for construction of Abu-Dhabi Plaza-KazTAG) attempted to evade tax payments filing a declaration with a zero salary fund under factually paid over 136 mln tenge," said the prosecutor’s office.
"Both companies have been surcharged about 630 mln tenge into the budget," reads the message.
