Expensive laptop with database stolen from KazTAG's editorial in Almaty

Almaty. August 19. KazTAG - An expensive computer with a database has been stolen from the office of KazTAG news agency in Almaty.
"We came in the morning, the balcony door was opened, two laptops disappeared, one was old, we did not use it, the second one was an expensive laptop with all the video sources, all the materials," said Sholpan Yeleusizova, manager of Silk Road multimedia project.
KazTAG called criminal police.
An employee of the neighbouring office saw one of the possible criminals.
"It was before 13.00 (on August 18-KazTAG). I was parking and saw a man standing on the balcony. He was looking towards the door and doing something," said the witness.
She said she thought it was KazTAG employee.
"He had a beard, was handsome with fair hair, tall and slim," she said.
KazTAG employees had locked all the doors and windows before leaving the office.
The thief has stolen equipment which stored data.
"If it was a simple thief he could take Ronin which costs more than half a million tenge, a cam, three tripods, but for some reasons, two laptops were missing," said Yeleusizova.
It has been not the first case over the past two weeks when costly technique is stolen from KazTAG. Equipment from KazTAG workers were openly stolen, cams of Almaty TV channel and Radio Azattyq were broken on July 22 at the press-conference on prosecution of mothers in Kazakhstani international bureau for human rights and rule of law. Police did not take any measures in respect of violators. The criminals have not been detained despite the fact that the incident was widely covered in Kazakhstani and foreign mass media.
