Ex-head of police Kudebayev was taken to Kazakhstan and placed in temporary detention center

Astana. April 27. KazTAG - Serik Kudebayev, former head of police departments of Almaty and the Almaty region, detained in Turkey, has been taken to Kazakhstan and placed in a temporary detention center, reports Prosecutor General's Office.
“Former head of the Almaty region Kudebayev has been arrested and placed in a temporary detention center. He was accused of abuse of power and authority, committing torture during the events that took place in January 2022. During the trial, Kudebayev , violating the measure of restraint chosen against him, fled from the court, then he was put on the interstate wanted list, ” reads the message.
