"The court rejects an application of Dzhakishev on release on parole," said Yermek Shmyrov, judge of city court N2 of Semey.
The judge said he has not found sufficient grounds to approve the appeal. According to him, Dzhakishev did not compensate for the damage, he also stated that over the past three years, the convict received only one merit.
Earlier the representative of the colony and the doctor had spoken in favor of the petition for Dzhakishev's parole, while the prosecutor asked the court to reject the appeal. The ex-head of Kazatomprom publicly spoke in court for the first time in the past 10 years: he pointed out violations committed during the main trial of and urged the court to be truthful.
