Airlines applied to Ministry of Energy due to shortage of aviation kerosene in the Kazakhstani market

Astana. November 11. KazTAG - Air companies have applied to the Ministry of Energy due to the shortage of aviation kerosene in the Kazakhstani market.
"Since October 2020, the factories of Kazakhstan have sharply reduced the volumes of processed kerosene which resulted in shortage," reads the statement addressed to Nurlan Nogayev, Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev.
According to air carriers, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant has switched to processing of winter diesel fuel and as a result jet fuel became unavailable for air companies. The production of aviation fuel also decreased at the Atyrau oil refinery in October, while the capacity of  Shymkent oil refinery is insufficient to cover the needs of the jet fuel market.
“Based on the above, we ask you to assist in increasing the production of aviation kerosene at the Pavlodar Oil Refinery,” reads the statement.
