Sit down, Atamkulov, you get an F

Almaty. October 7. KazTAG - If Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Industry and Innovational Development, said about reduced prices for air tickets in Kazakhstan at the lesson of math, but not at the session of the Government, undoubtedly, he would get an F.
"While in 2012 the average tariff for air tickets en route Nur-Sultan-Almaty in recalculation into dollar rate was $85, in 2019 tickets cost in average $60," he said at the session of the government on Monday.
First, the minister should remember that it is not worth calculating prices in dollars, as we have our independent national currency, while nobody cancelled the de-dollarization task. But the problem is if he calculated in tenge, the construction about depreciation of air tickets would be a full profanation.
The Minister has forgotten to say that dollar rate has not been standing at one place. Let's calculate together.
In October 2012 dollar-tenge rate was 150 tenge/$1. Multiply 150 by 85 and we get 12750. It means an air ticket from the capital to Almaty costs 12 750 tenge.
Now tenge-dollar rate is much different- 389 tenge/$1.
Now multiply 389 by 60 and we get 23340. So now the flight from Nur-Sultan to Almaty costs 23340 tenge. We divide the figures (23340/12750) and we get that the price has increased by 1.83 times or by 83%.
Anticipating the fair objections that after all, the incomes of Kazakhstani people since 2012 have not stood still, let's compare the average salaries. At the end of 2012, it amounted to 106 thousand tenge, according to the results of the first half of 2019 - 188 thousand tenge. Again, we divide 188 by 106 - we get growth by 1.77 times or by 77%
Now it’s very simple: 83-77 = 6. Eventually, the tariffs between Nur-Sultan and Almaty went up in average by 6%. Is the difference small?  Nevertheless, there is, and not in favor of the ministerial arguments about the cheapening.
The statement of Kanat Alpysbayev, Director of Transport and Logistics of the National Welfare Fund  Samruk-Kazyna JSC that the rates of Fly Arystan and Air Astana are four times lower than in Europe is generally not true.
According to Eurostat, the average earnings in the EU countries is 26.76 euros per hour, and in the Eurozone states it makes 30.33 euros per hour (11 426 tenge and 12 950, tenge respectively, at the rate of 427 tenge per euro). It turns out that a citizen of Europe in eight hours earns from 91 408 tenge to 103 602 tenge, and per month (if there are 21 working days) - from 1 919 568 tenge to 2 175 642 tenge.
How much is the tariff, say, in Shymkent? According to Alpysbaev - 5999 tenge. Now let's multiply it by four. It turns out that in Europe  it will be 23 996 tenge for a similar distance (or 56 euros). We divide our average salary by the tariff to Shymkent: 188000/5999 and we get 31.3. In Europe the same indicator will be (1 919 568/23 996) 79.9. Thus, what is cheaper here?
