Mass poisoning in Zhambyl region - 10 children hospitalized

Taraz. March 18. KazTAG - 10 children were hospitalized with poisoning in Zhambyl region,  reports the press service of the regional akimat.
"On March 17, 2025, 10 pupils of the preschool education center "Nurai", which is located in the village of Merke (Oital section), were admitted to the infectious diseases department of the Merkensky district hospital. Nine cases were registered with a diagnosis of acute intestinal infection, one case - enterovirus infection. One student is in the intensive care unit, the condition is stable (positive dynamics are observed),"  reads the report.
A working group has been created that is studying each case in detail. The reasons for the incident are currently being investigated.
Today the sanitary and epidemiological control department of the Merkensky district is conducting an inspection, all samples have been taken, and specialists are waiting for the expert opinion.
“The work of the center has been suspended for two days, disinfection treatment is being carried out,” reads the report.
